Edgerton Road Reconstruction Project
This project
is being completed in two-phases:
Phase 1: 2007 - West 130th
Street to Bennett Road and Ridge Road to State Road.
Phase 2: 2008 - State Road east to the
Broadview Heights line.
Phase 1 update:
Phase I of the Edgerton Road Reconstruction
Project was substantially complete prior to the snow flakes
arriving. There are a few items that remain to be completed on the
sections of Edgerton Road from West 130th Street to
Bennett and from Ridge to State roads. These remaining items consist
mainly of lineal grading and re-defining of storm water ditching as
well as the restoration of the grass at the ditch and the driveway
aprons that were replaced as a part of the project.
Phase 2 update:
Phase 2 of this project is scheduled to begin
the week of May 12th, 2008. Beginning at State Road and
proceeding East to the Broadview Heights border. The road
reconstruction process will be the same as was completed in Phase I
of this project as well as on both Wallings Road and Drake Road. It
will consist of the following procedures:
1.
Temporary realignment/relocation of Mail Boxes. (Some mail boxes may
not be affected).
2.
Excavation of some driveway aprons, grinding of others. (You will
have limited access at certain times due to construction going on at
that time).
3.
Excavation and widening of
berm area.
4. Single
Pass Cold in-place recycling, (once complete, there will be a curing
time delay).
5. Perform
any full-depth repairs and chip and seal.
6. Improvements
to ditch/drainage of storm water as directed.
7. Installation
of NEW asphalt leveling course.
8. Installation
of new Driveway Aprons and culvert pipes, (not all properties may be
affected).
9. Installation
of NEW asphalt surface course and permanent striping.
10. Restoration
of all disturbed areas and re-installation of NEW Mail Boxes, (not
all mail boxes are affected).
Recycling of the existing roadway pavement at
an average depth of six-inches (6”) - during this process, additives
are infused into the recycled existing material and reinstalled and
compacted. This ‘cold’ in-place recycling of the existing asphalt
will stabilize the roadway base. Once the newly installed recycled
base is complete, the intermediate layer of asphalt will be
installed and the storm water drainage improvements will be executed
as well as the required driveway culvert pipe replacements. As with
Phase 1 of this project, the ‘top-coat’ of asphalt, new stone berm
and complete stabilization of all disturbed areas will complete the
project.
Your continued
patience during this vital ROAD and STORM WATER MANAGEMENT project is
appreciated.
