Bond rating:
Aa3 (full
report)
In July of 2003, the City’s bond rating was upgraded to Aa3 by Moody’s
Investors Service. More recently, in July 2005, the Aa3 rating was
reaffirmed based upon the City’s strong financial position with healthy
reserves, an expanding tax base, favorable debt profile and conservative
management and professional leadership. Aa3 is the highest bond rating
the City has ever attained. It is important to the City in that it
directly effects the cost at which the City can borrow funds.
