The Board of Zoning Appeals is hereby established to assist in the administration of the North Royalton Zoning Code, particularly to decide and interpret provisions which require impartial adjustments of conflicting interests and to grant variances from the strict letter of the North Royalton Zoning Code in instances of unnecessary hardship. The Board is established to achieve, among others, the following:

To provide a method for alleviating unnecessary hardship by allowing a reasonable use for individual parcels of property which, because of unusual or unique circumstances, may be denied a reasonable use by literal application of the terms of this Zoning Code.

To review and/or appeal any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Building Commissioner.

To provide an administrative board, independent from all other City boards and commissions.

The Board of Zoning Appeals Meetings are held at the North Royalton City Hall at 13834 Ridge Road, at 7:30 p.m. The Meetings are held usually on the fourth Monday of the month unless otherwise noted. Caucus is at 7:15 p.m. and is open to the public.
